Ralph Gilles

Few names resonate in modern automotive design quite like Ralph Gilles. As Chief Design Officer for Stellantis, Gilles oversees the creative vision and design strategy for some of the world’s most storied marques, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, and Maserati. His influence has shaped the face of American performance and luxury vehicles for over two decades.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Gilles joined Chrysler in 1992 and quickly rose through the ranks thanks to his bold vision and dynamic approach to design. He played a pivotal role in the creation of the iconic Chrysler 300 and the rebirth of the Dodge Charger, cementing his reputation for blending muscle car heritage with modern innovation. He later led the design of the Dodge Viper, a symbol of raw American performance and artistic form.

More than just a designer, Gilles is a leader, mentor, and champion of diversity in the automotive world. His passion for cars extends beyond the studio—he’s also an avid racer and motorsports enthusiast, bringing a visceral understanding of performance to every line he draws.

Under Gilles’ leadership, Stellantis design continues to push boundaries, marrying bold aesthetics with cutting-edge technology, and reinforcing the emotional connection between driver and machine.

We are proud to welcome Ralph Gilles to the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival—a celebration where passion for design, craftsmanship, and innovation meet the road.
