For more than three decades, Kelly Slank has helped shape the future of automotive design through her expertise in color, materials, finishes and emerging trends. Her career has spanned some of the world’s most influential brands, including General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Nike and Harley-Davidson, where she led the team responsible for the inspiration, research and development of paint, materials, finishes and graphics for both Harley-Davidson and LiveWire motorcycles.

Kelly Slank has over 30 years of trend forecasting, design, color, and materials experience across a range of industries that include interiors, exhibit, automotive, footwear, and apparel. She has worked for industry leaders such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and Nike. Most recently, she spent time at Harley-Davidson, where she led the team responsible for the inspiration, research, and development of all paint, materials, finishes, and graphics for Harley-Davidson and LiveWire motorcycles.


Kelly’s expertise extends to judging at prestigious events, including the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance. She was also part of the Harley-Davidson design team that judged custom-built motorcycles at Born Free Motorcycle Show and Paradise Road Show.
Currently, Kelly operates the consultancy Slank Design and teaches at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. The interplay and manipulation of color, material, and texture have consistently been the centerpiece of her professional and personal endeavors.

With an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for the relationship between color, texture and form, Kelly brings a fresh and thoughtful perspective to the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance judging field.
