Michael Simcoe
A visionary in the world of automotive design, Michael Simcoe serves as the Global Vice President of Design for General Motors, where he leads a global team responsible for shaping the aesthetic and emotional DNA of some of the world’s most iconic automotive brands—including Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC.
With a career spanning over four decades at GM, Simcoe began his journey in Australia with Holden in 1983. From those early days, he demonstrated a unique ability to balance innovation with heritage, a trait that would come to define his leadership style and design philosophy. Rising through the ranks, Simcoe has held numerous leadership positions, including Executive Director of Asia Pacific Design and GM International Design, before assuming his current role in 2016.
Known for his forward-thinking approach, Simcoe has helped usher in a new era of design at GM—one that seamlessly integrates advanced technology, sustainability, and bold visual identity. Under his guidance, GM has delivered some of the most admired concept and production vehicles of the modern era.
His influence extends far beyond the studio. As an advocate for design education and cross-cultural collaboration, Simcoe continues to shape not only the look of the automobile but also the future of the industry itself.
We are honored to welcome Michael Simcoe to the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival, where his insight and passion for automotive excellence resonate deeply with our celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation.
