Where horsepower meets soul.
Kick off Concours weekend with an intimate evening of live music, Southern hospitality and giving back at Motor Cars & Music: An Evening with Taylor Hicks.
Meet Taylor Hicks
There are voices you recognize from the very first note. Taylor Hicks has one of them.
Long before America knew his name, Birmingham, Alabama native Taylor Hicks was building his sound the old-fashioned way, rooted in the blues, Southern soul, country and rock & roll. Then came American Idol, where his unmistakable voice, magnetic live performances and genuine love of music carried him all the way to the title and introduced the country to the artist behind the “Soul Patrol.”
What followed was far more than a television moment. Hicks went on to achieve RIAA-certified platinum status and built a career around the kind of live performance that first made audiences fall in love with him.
Today, Taylor’s sound feels particularly at home in the South. His music lives somewhere between country and soul—bluesy, warm and wonderfully difficult to put into just one box. His recent single “Porch Swing,” recorded at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground studio in Nashville, marked his first official single release in 14 years and ushered in a new chapter for an artist whose Southern roots have always been at the heart of his music.
And that’s what makes bringing Taylor Hicks to Hilton Head Island so special.
One night. One unmistakable voice.
