Two New Members Join the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival’s Board of Directors
Hilton Head Island, SC (February 23, 2010) – The Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival recently announced two new members to its Board of Directors. John H. Edwards and Victorianne (Vicki) C. Head, both Hilton Head Island residents, joined the Board in January 2010.
Edwards, both a previous volunteer and exhibitor of the Motoring Festival, has volunteered with numerous groups over the past 30 years including serving on the Board for such organizations as Hamden Hall Country Day School, Williams Woods University, Prison Fellowship – New England Region, Woodbridge Republican Town Committee, Woodbridge Board of Selectmen and the Peninsula Oral School. Currently, Edwards serves on the McCune Foundation whose mission is to enable communities and nonprofit institutions to improve the quality and circumstances of life for present and future generations. The McCune Foundation provides grants to or for the use of corporations organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes. Although the McCune Foundation is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, John resides on Hilton Head Island with his wife, Debra. They have two children, Lisa and Nathan.
Vicki Head has been involved with the Motoring Festival since its inception as a sponsor, an exhibitor and a member of the Motoring Festival’s Community Advisory Board. Head currently serves as the Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for H&H Auto Service, Inc., a family business she owns and operates with her husband, Bill. Head has an extensive PR and event planning background previously working for the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport Community Relations Department serving as the Liaison for the U.S. Thunderbirds and coordinating the air show. She was also the founder of “Dressing with Dignity,” a clothing line she launched for elderly, handicapped and spinal cord injured individuals after her career as a Geriatric Nurse. Vicki has lived on Hilton Head Island for 24 years with her husband, Bill. They have two children, Whitney and Michael.
“We are excited to be starting the planning for the 2010 Festival with two excellent additions to our Board. With John’s philanthropic background and Vicki’s public relations and community expertise, we can only expect to continue to grow into the national event that we are fast becoming,” said Carolyn Vanagel, Executive Director of the Motoring Festival.
Planning is underway for the 2010 Festival set to be held November 6 & 7 at Hilton Head Island’s Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.
