Hilton Head Island, SC (May 11, 2009) – The Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival will be teaming up with the MCAS Air Show in Beaufort this weekend, May 16 - 17, to offer attendees a sneak peek at the 2009 Car Club Jamboree exhibit which will take place the Saturday of the multi-day festival held October 30 – November 1.

The Concours has teamed with the Southeast Region Car Council to recruit local car clubs to participate at this weekend’s Air Show. Area car clubs that will have cars on display include the Antique Automobile Club of America (Savannah & Asheville chapters), Carolina Dreamers, Classic Car & Truck Club of Beaufort, Cops Against Illegal Racing (C.A.I.R.), the Altamaha Classic Cruisers, and the one that started it all at the Air Show, Lowcountry Oyster and Motor Driving Society.

With approximately 50 cars on display each day, the Motoring Festival will give Air Show attendees the chance to see what Saturday’s Car Club Jamboree, taking place October 31, 2009, is all about. Some examples of what can be seen at the Air Show are a 1955 Corvette and a 1967 Jaguar XKE as well as a selection of Corvettes, with clubs coming from Savannah, Hilton Head and Charleston, and Mustangs, with clubs such as Racing Performance Mustangs and Mustangs of Beaufort participating. This preview exhibit will lead up to the show’s main event, The Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival, the Island’s 2nd largest tourist event.

The Air Show, which is free to the general public, will showcase Naval aviation at its best with a demonstration by the United States Naval Flight Demonstration Team, the Blue Angels. Additional aerobatic performers will include such world class performers as Patty Wagstaff, three-time US Aerobatic Champion and European Championship and World Grand Prix of Aerobatics winner Jurgis Kairys. Parking and bleacher seating will also be provided free of charge. For more information on the Air Show, visit www.BeaufortAirShow.com.
